Micro Metals is seeking a hands-on Manufacturing Engineer to support our fabrication and production operations in Colorado Springs. This is an on-site position based in Colorado Springs, CO. Candidates must be able to reliably commute or relocate prior to start.
Requirements
What You’ll Do
- Provide engineering support to daily manufacturing operations
- Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and customer specifications
- Program and optimize:
- Laser cutting equipment
- Turret presses
- Press brakes
- Troubleshoot fabrication and forming issues on the shop floor
- Develop and maintain manufacturing routings and process documentation
- Monitor production output to ensure quality and specification compliance
- Support new product launches and prototype builds
- Partner with Quality on corrective actions and process improvements
- Evaluate and implement engineering design changes
- Recommend tooling, fixture, and process enhancements
- Support scrap reduction and cost improvement initiatives
- Collaborate with supervisors, operators, and safety teams
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering
- OR equivalent hands-on manufacturing engineering experience
- Minimum 4 years of related manufacturing or fabrication experience
- Strong blueprint reading and GD&T interpretation skills
- Experience in sheet metal fabrication environments
- CNC programming exposure (laser, punch, brake)
- SolidWorks proficiency (preferred)
- Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis skills
- Ability to work cross-functionally with production teams
