Responsibilities:
• Respond to guest room maintenance calls and facility repair requests throughout the hotel property
• Perform preventative maintenance procedures on hotel buildings, systems, and equipment
• Troubleshoot and repair Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems throughout the property
• Complete general maintenance and repairs including plumbing, HVAC, electrical, carpentry, drywall, flooring, mechanical systems, and finish work
• Support repairs involving refrigeration systems, pool heaters, laundry equipment, and kitchen equipment
• Prioritize work orders and urgent maintenance requests to minimize guest and operational disruption
• Inspect, maintain, and safely operate maintenance tools, equipment, and building systems
• Maintain maintenance inventory and coordinate parts and supply requisitions as needed
• Communicate maintenance activities, repairs, and unresolved issues effectively across engineering shifts and departments
• Utilize Lockout/Tagout procedures and support OSHA and hotel safety initiatives
• Participate in hotel emergency response and fire alarm response activities
• Read and interpret blueprints and technical documentation (Engineer II level)
• Perform advanced troubleshooting and repairs independently with minimal supervision (Engineer II level)
Required Experience:
• High school diploma or equivalent required/preferred
• Minimum 2+ years of maintenance experience required for Engineer I
• Minimum 3+ years of hands-on maintenance experience required for Engineer II
• Experience supporting Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems required
• Experience performing plumbing, HVAC, electrical, painting, carpentry, or mechanical repairs required
• Basic to advanced troubleshooting experience with electrical circuits, plumbing systems, HVAC equipment, motors, and mechanical systems required
• Experience using hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment required
• Strong communication and customer service skills required
• Ability to work independently and prioritize maintenance tasks effectively
• Ability to perform physical maintenance duties in varying environmental conditions required
• Valid Driver’s License required with ability to meet company driving standards
• Blueprint reading experience beneficial/required for Engineer II
• Trade certification, technical schooling, or enrollment in a technical training program preferred for Engineer II
• CPR Certification required/preferred for Engineer II
Preferred Experience:
• Experience working within hotels, resorts, hospitality, or commercial facilities environments preferred
• HVAC, EPA, or skilled trade certifications preferred
• Experience supporting preventative maintenance programs preferred
• Experience supporting OSHA safety programs and emergency response initiatives preferred
• Advanced troubleshooting experience with HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, or electrical systems preferred
• Experience working independently with minimal supervision preferred
