Position Summary

The Engineer I supports engineering and project execution activities by performing entry-level engineering assignments while developing knowledge of company products, systems, processes, and technical standards. This role works under the guidance of senior engineering staff and is responsible for supporting project activities, engineering documentation, process improvements, and cross-functional collaboration. The Engineer I demonstrates a strong desire to learn, develop technical competence, and contribute to successful project execution while supporting EDLON's operational and customer objectives.  This is an on-site position located in our Avondale, PA office.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

 

Safety & Compliance

• Promote and maintain a safe work environment by following established safety policies, procedures, and engineering standards.
 • Support compliance with all EDLON safety requirements, regulatory standards, and company procedures.
 • Identify and communicate potential safety concerns related to projects, equipment, processes, or operations.
 • Participate in safety initiatives and continuous improvement efforts as assigned.
 • Consistently perform work in a safe, professional, and responsible manner.


Quality Management

• Support engineering activities in accordance with quality standards, customer requirements, and company specifications.
 • Assist with the preparation and review of engineering documents, drawings, specifications, and technical reports.
 • Follow established engineering processes and document control requirements.
 • Identify and communicate quality concerns to appropriate personnel.
 • Support quality initiatives, corrective actions, and continuous improvement activities as assigned.


Engineering & Project Support

• Execute assigned engineering tasks under the guidance of senior engineering staff.
 • Learn company products, manufacturing processes, systems, and engineering procedures.
 • Support project planning, coordination, documentation, and execution activities.
 • Assist with engineering calculations, technical evaluations, and data collection efforts.
 • Participate in project meetings and support cross-functional communication.
 • Assist in tracking project activities, schedules, and deliverables as assigned.
 • Accurately complete engineering documentation and reporting requirements.


Technical Development

• Develop an understanding of EDLON products, engineering principles, and operational processes.
 • Learn and apply company engineering standards, procedures, and best practices.
 • Demonstrate technical growth through training, project participation, and mentorship.
 • Seek guidance and apply feedback from supervisors, project engineers, and senior engineering staff.
 • Build knowledge of engineering software, tools, and systems used within the organization.
 • Progressively increase technical competency and independent problem-solving capability.


Team Support & Collaboration

• Work collaboratively with engineering, manufacturing, quality, operations, and project teams.
 • Support effective communication among team members and stakeholders.
 • Follow direction from supervisors, project managers, and senior engineers.
 • Demonstrate reliability, accountability, and professionalism in completing assigned responsibilities.
 • Contribute positively to team performance and workplace culture.


Qualifications

 

Education and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical field required.
 • 0-3 years of engineering experience.
 • Internship, co-op, academic project, or entry-level engineering experience preferred.
 • Demonstrated willingness to learn and develop engineering knowledge and technical skills.

 • Ability to perform assigned engineering work with accuracy and attention to detail.
