This role is responsible for taking inputs from multiple functional groups and translating them into designs for new or revised turbomachinery components. The group is responsible for supplying CAD models/drawings to analysis and manufacturing, supporting the shop/field/supplier/customer on issues in a timely and thoughtful manner. The chosen engineer will have their own product line(s) to support which could include legacy products, new products, or test rigs.

This position will:

• Create, interpret, and review engineering drawings (both 2D and 3D)
• Create layouts as required to convey new design concepts and resolutions to engineering challenges
• Utilize Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) practices to help obtain the desired design intent (form, fit, and function)
• Validate Bill of Material (BOM) for sales orders
• Work with suppliers and approve source control drawings
• Part disposition on defects from manufacturing and suppliers
• Support the shop, testing, and the field to address any design related issues

What You Need To Have:

Educational Background:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering

Technical Excellence:

• 2+ years of working experience
• CAD proficiency
• Highly proficient in O365 suite of programs

• Hands on type of person, likes to build/tinker in their off time

Technical Excellence:

• Creo proficiency preferred

Summary Pay Range:

$87,456.00 - $131,184.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
