This position will be located in Fort Wayne, IN. The Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring that the products or services meet the established standards of quality including reliability, usability and performance. This position includes selling off product that is compliant to all contract requirement to our customers. This role includes hardware and software quality experience and expertise, with emphasis on hardware quality related activities. This individual needs to have solid communications skills as well as having the ability to engage across all levels of the organization in building effective relationships.

Required Skills and Education

  • Bachelor's degree and 2-4+ years of engineering experience or 6-8+ years of engineering experience in lieu of degree
  • Experience in commercial, automotive, and/or aerospace & defense
  • Strong collaborative skills both within and external to the Quality function
  • Able to read and comprehend drawings, specifications and contract requirements
  • Ability to drive successful completion of Root Cause and Corrective Actions (RCCA)
  • Self-motivated and able to manage daily priorities with minimal oversight and direction
  • Ability to attain Secret Clearance
  • Organized; capable of juggling several tasks simultaneously
  • Ability to execute in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Team-oriented; ability and desire to work with a hybrid team

Preferred Skills and Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering or technical field
  • Software and hardware Quality experience in commercial, automotive and/or aerospace hardware/software
  • Experience with AS9100, AS9102 and AS9145 standards
  • Quality auditing experience (e.g. AS9100)
  • Experience with a Quality improvement programs (Zero Defect, Lean Six Sigma, Operational Excellence, Green Belt, etc.)
  • Ability to devise sampling procedures and directions for recording and reporting quality data
  • Perform and document internal audits and other quality assurance activities
  • Active Secret Clearance
  • Plan, conduct and monitor testing and inspection of materials and products to ensure finished product quality
  • Familiarity with metrology standards
