The BAE Systems site in Aiken, South Carolina is seeking a Senior Quality Engineer in support of Combat Mission Systems for the 2nd Shift. 

In this role as a Senior Quality Engineer, your included duties will be to:
  • Develop and write inspection plans.
  • Read, interpret, and apply blueprint skills.
  • Apply Geometric Dimensions & Tolerancing (GD&T) concepts.
  • Monitor Statistical Process Control (SPC) charts and data files.
  • Process non-conformances for disposition.
  • Provide technical quality support to production and engineering.
Note about Schedule: This position is on a 4/10 work schedule on 2nd Shift, 3:15 PM to 1:45 AM, Monday through Thursday. Training commences for several weeks on 1st Shift. 

Required Skills and Education

  • Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related discipline, and four years related experience, or the overall equivalent.
  • Ability to read, interpret and understand blueprints.
  • Working knowledge in reading, comprehending, and applying GD&T principles and applications. 
  • Ability to read and understand raw material specifications.
  • Computer literacy in Microsoft Office including Outlook, Excel, and Word. 
  • Understanding of Quality and Lean Principles.
  • Ability to support the 2nd Shift on a 4/10 work schedule. Able to train on 1st Shift.

  • PFEMAs
  • Writing inspection plans.
  • Statistical Process Control
  • Laser Scanner Inspection technology
  • Polyworks, Faro or CMM-Manage inspection programming
  • Keyence Inspection Devices
  • ASQ certification
  • Experience supporting quality in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience managing a quality program in support of government contracts, preferably DoD
  • Formal training in statistics
  • Formal training in root cause analysis
  • Experience implementing APQP in a low-rate, technically complex product environment #LJR1 #LI-Onsite
  • Proficient with first article inspection preparations.
