You don’t see it, but it’s there. Our employees work on the world’s most advanced electronics – from saving emissions in the City of Lights to powering the Mars Rover to protecting the F-35 fighter jet. At Electronic Systems, you’ll be among the brightest minds, working on the aerospace and defense industry’s most difficult problems. Drawing strength from our differences, we’re innovating for the future. And you can, too.
Our flexible work environment provides you a chance to change the world without giving up your personal life. We put our customers first – exemplified by our missions: “We Protect Those Who Protect Us®” and “We Innovate For Those Who Move The WorldTM.” Sound like a team you want to be a part of? Come build your career with us.
We are seeking a Systems Development and Integration Engineer with strong software development expertise to join our Electronic Warfare platform team. In this role, you will develop, integrate, and deploy software that bridges EW algorithms and processing pipelines with underlying hardware and infrastructure. You will work across the full stack from Linux host configuration and containerized deployment to hardware interfacing with software-defined radios and will play a key role in the continuum between high-fidelity simulation and fielded systems, helping to ensure that performance validated in modeling environments carries through to operational hardware.
Key Responsibilities
Develop system software in C/C++ and Python, using CMake-based or similar build systems, to implement and integrate EW signal processing and control components
Integrate software and hardware systems using standard networking and messaging protocols including TCP/IP, UDP, ZeroMQ, and Protocol Buffers
Configure, maintain, and automate Linux hosts (RHEL, Ubuntu, and related distributions) using Bash, Python, and Ansible
Build and maintain containerized deployments using Docker and Docker Compose, incorporating ZeroMQ and NATS messaging for inter-service communication
Support the transition of software modules between simulation environments and hardware platforms, including participation in SWIL and HWIL testing processes
Develop and maintain web-based portals and UIs for monitoring and controlling deployed software systems
Interface with software-defined radio hardware (USRP, EPIQ, in-house, and similar) and apply DSP concepts to support EW and communications signal processing pipelines
Collaborate with algorithm developers, modeling engineers, and systems engineers to ensure that performance characteristics observed in simulation are preserved through integration and onto operational hardware
You will be working at the seam between software and hardware in a hands-on EW development environment — owning the integration layer that connects signal processing algorithms to real radio hardware and operational infrastructure. Critically, this role sits at the boundary between model and product: the work you do directly determines whether performance demonstrated in simulation translates faithfully to fielded systems. The work spans systems programming, infrastructure automation, RF hardware interfacing, and operator tooling, making it a strong fit for engineers who are comfortable moving between layers of the stack
