Job Description

See what you’re missing. Our employees work on the world’s most advanced electronics – from detecting threats for F-35 pilots to illuminating the night for soldiers. Spanning air, land, sea, and space, we are developing the technology of tomorrow, delivered today. Drawing strength from our differences, we’re innovating for the future. And you can, too. Our flexible work environment provides you a chance to change the world without giving up your personal life. We put our customers first – exemplified by our mission: “We Protect Those Who Protect Us®.” Sound like a team you want to be a part of? Come build your career with BAE Systems.

The Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance Systems (C4ISRS) Business Area provides actionable intelligence for our warfighters and decision makers through innovative technical solutions from the seas to the stars. Space Systems is a premier provider of advanced high-reliability space electronics and mission systems. Our products have enabled a wide variety of civil, commercial, and national security space missions for over 25 years. We’re leading the way with the development of advanced processing solutions, RF and optical payloads, and cross-domain solutions that enable our customers to deliver mission capability that was previously not achievable.

BAE Systems is seeking an experienced systems engineer to lead a multi-disciplinary team of engineers to develop RF mission capabilities on space qualified hardware for deployment to a space platform.  Your responsibilities will include managing the system engineering content and work products, which includes developing the requirements baseline, design and integration, to ultimately perform qualification testing and delivery of the product. Under your technical leadership, the team will utilize digital engineering and model-based systems engineering principles to perform operational concept development, feasibility studies, design, development, performance modeling, and hardware/software evaluation. This role will also entail preparing and delivering technical presentations internally and for customer meetings.

This position is based out of our Merrimack NH facility and may require partnership with staff across our business areas and facilities in the Northeast, Virginia and Colorado.  Motivated and positive minded engineers must hold a United States security clearance and skilled in areas needed for cross-functional, multi-disciplinary teams.

BAE Systems offers competitive pay, benefits, and important work-life balance initiatives including every other Friday Off, flextime, and telecommuting. BAE also believes in a culture of recognition for the extraordinary contributions of our skilled employees. Our engineers are the lifeblood of our company and we’re more than 5,000 strong. With our robust offering of educational and career development opportunities, your chances to grow are limitless.

At BAE Systems, we support our employees in all aspects of their life, including their health and financial well-being. Regular employees scheduled to work 20+ hours per week are offered: health, dental, and vision insurance; health savings accounts; a 401(k) savings plan; disability coverage; and life and accident insurance. We also have an employee assistance program, a legal plan, and other perks including discounts on things like home, auto, and pet insurance. Our leave programs include paid time off, paid holidays, as well as other types of leave, including paid parental, military, bereavement, and any applicable federal and state sick leave. Employees may participate in the company recognition program to receive monetary or non-monetary recognition awards. Other incentives may be available based on position level and/or job specifics.

Because of the need for consistent, in‑person collaboration and the nature of this particular role, most responsibilities will be performed full‑time on site. There may be opportunities to work in a hybrid capacity on occasion, depending on the specific phase of the program.
