Within our growing Hardware Engineering community, you’ll have opportunity to work the technology focused programs within our Countermeasure & Electromagnetic Attack Solutions (CEMA) business focusing in our Integrated Survivability Solutions  (ISS) product line.  Here, we turn ideas into products ranging from electro-optics to state of the art laser technology solutions that protect our nation’s airborne and land based platforms.  As a Hardware Lead, you’ll have opportunity to own the engineering technical, cost, and schedule aspects of our projects with the freedom to lead and shape teams consisting of talented electrical, mechanical, optical, as well as firmware engineers and designers.  You’ll actively partner with a wider team of dedicated program engineers and business leads to develop and deliver truly amazing hardware solutions designed to survive the harshest of environmental conditions.  Embracing a “design it right the first time” philosophy, we focus on factors including affordability, manufacturing, quality, and reliability in order to exceed our customer expectations every day.

Required Skills and Education

As a Hardware Engineering Lead, you will provide project level leadership to ensure successful execution of program plans and accomplishment of engineering department goals.  You’ll guide teams performing research, development, and consulting assignments of a professional technical nature where extensive and diversified knowledge of hardware engineering principles and practices are necessary to successfully accomplish objectives.
 
Required Job Skills, Responsibilities, & Experience includes: 

  1. BSEE or BSME with 10+ years and commensurate experience leading engineering teams

  2. Possesses solid technical leadership practices for multi-disciplinary engineering teams engaged in the design and development of state-of-the-art electro-mechanical products 

    • Team sizes may range from small to large (5, 10, to 20+)

    • Team disciplines include Mechanical (ME), Electrical (EE), Optical (OE), Design Drafting (DD)

  3. Proven experience in developing, implementing, and monitoring project schedules, budgets, and productivity metrics to ensure efficient team performance.  Experience with Earned Value Management System (EVMS) project execution and practices.

  4. Experience implementing an established Hardware Engineering design processes to achieve product quality and consistency

  5. Possesses sound interpersonal communication skills involving interfacing with company personnel, customers, and suppliers

  6. Experience supporting new business capture and proposal teams with development of hardware engineering cost/schedule estimates

  7. Capable of exercising independent discretion and judgment in the performance of engineering duties

  8. Capable of utilizing computer skills to prepare appropriate reports, documents, and presentations for internal/external distribution

  9. Ability to develop and implement design solutions, processes, and systems within budget and schedule requirements

  10. Experience with design and develop of products and services using state-of-the-art engineering technologies, principles, theories and concepts


Preferred Skills and Education

Preferred job skills, qualifications, & experience includes:

  1. Current DoD Security Clearance
  2. Certification for Earned Value Management System (EVMS) project management techniques
  3. Design of Electro-optic technologies
  4. Experience with RF technologies
  5. Designing to cost (DTUPC) constraints
  6. Designing for manufacturability

Typically a Bachelor's Degree and 10 years work experience or equivalent experience
