This Hardware Lead position is intended to support our Space Systems business within Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (C4ISR) Systems with a focus on RF Electronics. Space is a booming business where we are seeing a surge of activity to take our RF discriminating technologies and to spacify them. Think military aircraft to satellites. The missions and requirements span all earth orbits from LEO to GEO. The need for RF capabilities in Space is rapidly growing.
As a Hardware Lead, the position will own the cost, schedule and technical content within the hardware scope. The position will oversee technical program execution working with other leads (Electrical, Mechanical, Radiation, etc). The role will be responsible for CAMing (Cost Account Management) and Earned Value reporting for the hardware scope. Hardware leads are responsible for jumping in and solving technical problems as they happen and supporting the team along the way. The Hardware Lead will also be involved heavily with integration efforts as hardware arrives. The Hardware Lead role will not be a people manager, but they will be expected to provide some feedback on the team for performance.
This position reports to Space Systems Hardware Engineering management and will be in the same department as the other Hardware Engineers working on the same programs. Required Skills and Education
- A Bachelor's Degree or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
- Requires the ability to be cleared at the Secret level
- Highly familiar with hardware design processes
- Demonstrated project and people leadership skills
- Demonstrated teamwork and communication skills
- Cost Account Management / Earned Value reporting skills
- Demonstrates the leadership ability (Engineering Planning & Project Launch, Driving Technical Performance, and Risk & Opportunity Management) to understand and oversee the relevant product technologies of the business area programs.
- Understands the Hardware Engineering Process and acts as the HW process application expert relevant to their specialty providing the appropriate instantiation of process for the programs under your purview.
- Perform as Independent Assessor during Design Reviews and Peer Reviews.
Preferred Skills and Education
- Master’s degree and/or equivalent work experience a plus
- Experience providing technical oversight in a Hardware Lead fashion
- Experience resolving Hardware failures
- Experience performing Hardware integration
- Experience designing equipment for Space and/or RF electronics (CCAs and/or payloads)
- Familiarity with C4ISR product domains
- Familiarity with AS9145 a plus
- Secret or Top Secret Clearance a plus

Typically a Bachelor's Degree and 8 years work experience or equivalent experience
