The BAE Systems site in York, Pennsylvania is seeking a Quality Engineer in support of Combat Mission Systems operations on the 3rd Shift.

In this role as a Quality Engineer, you will develop, modify, apply, and maintain quality evaluation and control systems and protocols in a fast paced, heavy manufacturing environment. This position is responsible for ensuring requirements are met throughout multiple processes but primarily supporting 3rd shift AMPV assembly. We are open to consider candidates with more junior or senior level experience. 

Note about Schedule: The position is on the 9/80 Schedule on 3rd Shift. Typical hours are 10PM to 7:30AM with some flexibility for starting/ending hour. 

Required Skills and Education

  • Typically requires a Bachelors degree in an engineering or technical discipline with at least two (2) years of related experience, or the overall equivalent;
  • Requires a solid understanding of Quality Assurance / Quality Control fundamentals and principles;
  • Experience operating within ISO 9001 standards;
  • Strong background in problem solving techniques and analysis (A3, DMAIC, etc);
  • Proficiency in standard and industry related software including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and database applications;
  • Highly effective written and verbal communication skills;
  • Able to support 3rd Shift.

Preferred Skills and Education

  • ASQ certification;
  • Experience working in a quality program in support of government contracts, preferably DoW;
  • Formal training in root cause analysis;
  • Experience implementing APQP in a low-rate, technically complex product environment;
  • Experience with TipQA software.
