This position will be on second shift. 

As a Quality Assurance/Workmanship Trainer, you will provide training to our operation associates and drive quality actions to ensure workmanship standards meet or exceed all regulatory and customer requirements and expectations.

Daily activities include:
  • Train new operators to be able to solder to J-STD-001 for Class 3 flight critical hardware
  • Certify and recertify individuals to IPC standards 
  • Assist with the development of training materials 
  • Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures relevant to the QA function
  • Perform compliance/workmanship audits as needed
  • Perform ESD audits to meet regulatory compliance as needed

Because of the need for consistent, in-person collaboration and/or the requirement to perform all work onsite due to the nature of this particular role, it will be performed full- time on site. This means work will be conducted on location at a BAE Systems facility 100% of the time.

Required Skills and Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related discipline with 1 year of experience in manufacturing, or Associate's Degree with 1-2 years of experience in manufacturing, or 3+ years of experience in manufacturing in absence of degree 
  • Formal qualification to be related to field of work:
    • Soldering experience 
    • Knowledge of standard operating procedures, such as OSOPs, AWIs, QCWIs etc

Preferred Skills and Education

  • Teaching/training skills (patience, passion, approachability, etc.) to impart technical knowledge
  • Previous manufacturing or quality experiences in electronics assembly
  • IPC (Institute of Printed Circuits) trained to J-STD-001, IPC-A-610 familiarity
  • Solid manufacturing process knowledge/experience
  • Conflict resolution skills
  • Microsoft Word, PowerPoint & Excel
  • Data mining
