Job Description

Work as a member of a Radar System Software development team to develop Command and Control Interfaces, Real-time system control code, Radar Subsystem development, and Graphics Package development.
The candidate will implement and modify code based on technical requirements, perform unit testing against documented designs, and integrate hardware components. Additionally, the candidate will contribute to core Software Engineering activities, including code reviews, software configuration management, and the creation of project documentation. This role requires a highly collaborative mindset and the ability to integrate feedback from supporting Hardware and System Engineering teams.
I. BASIC FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB:
Develop and unit test moderately complex software units according to documented designs. Integrate hardware as required to support development and testing phases. Contribute to foundational software engineering lifecycle activities.
II. PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Collaborate on the evaluation of moderately complex software designs to identify and mitigate potential design flaws and defects.
  2. Develop and maintain technical documentation for software designs in accordance with established software development processes and procedures.
  3. Develop and maintain real-time embedded software, ensuring rigorous documentation and proper use of code repositories.
  4. Execute the integration of software with hardware components.
  5. Support the preparation of software engineering change orders, change proposals, and corrective action reports.
  6. Contribute to trade studies and evaluations for software development tools.

Required Skills and Education

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree. (Preferred: Computer Engineering or Computer Science. Math or Physics majors with a Computer Science minor will also be considered).
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in C or C++ and familiarity with hardware-software integration. Experience utilizing Integrated Development Environments (IDEs) such as Microsoft Visual Studio.
  • Certification: Must be able to obtain and retain a Certified Secure Software Lifecycle Professional (CSSLP) certification within six (6) months of hire.
  • Citizenship & Clearance: Pursuant to government contract, this position requires US citizenship. Candidate must be eligible to obtain and retain a Secret Security Clearance.
  • Travel: Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required.

Preferred Skills and Education

  • Systems & Networking: Thorough understanding of computer hardware, operating systems, and networking protocols (TCP/UDP).
  • Embedded Development: Experience with real-time code development, embedded software, and working with hardware SDKs.
  • Tools & Environment: Proficiency with Linux, Git (Version Control), Qt Creator, and Eclipse.
  • Professional Skills: Experience with technical writing and documentation.
