BAE Systems is seeking an outstanding engineer or recent engineering graduate for an opportunity to support the U.S. Air Force's (USAF) development and acquisition of the next generation Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) – the Sentinel.
The engineer will support the Quality Engineering Team and Sentinel Weapon System development with a willingness to learn and understand the main quality characteristics in engineering; the goal being to ensure that these critical attributes are incorporated early in the design phase. The candidate will learn about (or already have a working knowledge) of:

• The Quality Engineer reviews procedures and evaluates compliance with written procedures.

• This position reviews prime and subcontractor nonconformances through internal corrective actions and supplier corrective actions.

• The engineer reviews prime contractor adherence to design reviews and technical reviews.

• The role supports the Material Review Board, Failure Review Board, and Deficiency Reporting.

• Additionally, the engineer supports reviews and audits of the Prime contractor's AS9100 Quality Management System.

• The engineer also supports observations of the Prime contractor's internal and supplier auditors, as well as the audit process.

As a BAE team member, you are part of an Integrated Support Contract, meaning, that BAE assists and advises the USAF with technical expertise to manage the prime contractor in developing the new weapon system.  This position will entail reviewing prime contractor technical documentation, specifications, and design drawings, participation in technical reviews, and providing sound advice/suggestions within this field to the Government customer.
As part of the Systems Engineering and Integration Team, the job coordinates Quality requirements with other specialty engineering disciplines to achieve total system integration.

Typical Education and Experience

Typically a High School Diploma and 4 years work experience or equivalent experience

Required Skills and Education

• B.S. degree in a STEM field (Aero/Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, or Systems Engineering or Mathematics/Physics.

• 0-2 years of experience in quality engineering or a related field.

• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

• Knowledge of Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) methodologies.

• Be able to obtain a Secret clearance.

Preferred Skills and Education

• Current Secret clearance.

• Experience with quality management systems, such as ISO 9001 or AS9100.

• Familiarity with metric creation and analysis.

• Understanding of auditing principles and practices.

• Familiarity with quality engineering tools, such as FMEA, SPC, or Lean.

• Experience with data analysis and reporting tools, such as Excel or Tableau.

• Certification in quality engineering, such as CQE or ASQ.

• Experience with DOD acquisition.
