Middleby Refrigeration is seeking a hands-on and technically strong End-of-Line (EOL) Test Engineer to join our team. This role is responsible for validating the functional performance, safety, and reliability of refrigeration products at final assembly.
The End-of-Line Test Engineer serves as the technical authority for product testing, failure isolation, and test process improvement, ensuring that units leaving the factory meet engineering specifications and customer expectations.
This position bridges Manufacturing, Quality, and Engineering by diagnosing failures, identifying root causes, improving test methods, and preventing repeat defects — not just detecting them. This is a production-embedded engineering role requiring strong troubleshooting capability and cross-functional collaboration.
If you are passionate about solving complex technical problems and driving measurable quality improvements, this is an opportunity to contribute to the continued excellence of our refrigeration brands.
Perks you can expect from us:
- A competitive benefits package including 401(k) matching

This position is full-time. The general scheduled workdays are Monday through Thursday, 10-hour shifts. Overtime may be required based on business needs.
Position Overview:
The End-of-Line (EOL) Test Engineer is responsible for validating refrigeration product performance at final assembly and ensuring compliance with engineering specifications and acceptance criteria.
This role focuses on structured failure diagnostics, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement of test processes to improve first-pass yield, reduce repeat failures, and prevent warranty escapes.
Responsibilities:
Perform and oversee end-of-line testing of refrigeration systems including:
- Component checks
- Electrical loads & acceptable current draw limits
- Component checks
- Control board functionality
- Safety and wiring validation
- Verify unit performance against engineering specifications and acceptance criteria.
- Identify abnormal operating conditions such as restriction, undercharge, overcharge, or airflow issues.
- Diagnose failing units using structured troubleshooting methodology.
- Prevent unnecessary part replacement by verifying true failure cause.
- Support technicians and production in proper repair direction.
- Lead root cause analysis on repeat EOL failures and field returns.
- Track defect trends in PowerBI and escalate systemic issues.
- Provide engineering feedback for design or process changes.
- Maintain and improve EOL test procedures and standards.
- Support creation of automated test sequences and error detection logic.
- Improve fault detection capability (catch real failures, reduce false failures).
- Train operators on proper test interpretation and troubleshooting.
- Assist NPI builds and pilot runs to establish test criteria.
- Maintain test documentation, reports, and failure records.
- Analyze test data to identify trends and early failure indicators.
- Support warranty and reliability analysis.
