Employment Specialist
Position Summary
The Employment Specialist is responsible for filling client job orders with qualified associates while driving inside sales and business development activities. This role requires strong recruiting, relationship-building, and customer service skills to support both clients and job seekers. The Employment Specialist exercises independent judgment in recruiting, hiring, and assigning associates while maintaining compliance with employment laws, company policies, and Express systems.

Key Responsibilities
Recruiting & Staffing
- Fill 100% of qualified job orders with urgency and professionalism.
- Qualify and take complete job orders from clients.
- Ensure job orders are fillable based on available talent and client timelines.
- Recruit, screen, interview, and retain qualified associates.
- Follow the Express Employee Selection Process.
- Coordinate associate interviews and client assignments.
- Complete a minimum of two employment verification calls for each associate prior to placement.
- Maintain a strong pipeline of candidates for Office Services, Light Industrial, and Professional positions.
- Follow up regularly with associates to ensure satisfaction and retention.
Business Development & Sales
- Make a minimum of 50 Marketing and Prospecting Calls (MPCs) weekly, along with additional daily inside sales calls.
- Assist with appointment setting for Sales Representatives and Franchisees.
- Convert employment verification calls into recruiting or sales opportunities whenever possible.
- Use every client and associate interaction to strengthen relationships and identify business opportunities.
- Expand business with existing clients and develop new accounts.
- Present the full range of staffing and workforce solutions available.
- Conduct client visits and workplace safety tours.
- Invite clients and prospects to networking and marketing events.
Client & Associate Relations
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, prospects, and associates.
- Ensure exceptional service by following established quality control processes.
- Work collaboratively with team members to ensure timely placement of associates.
- Partner with other Employment Specialists to coordinate recruiting and sales efforts.
Compliance & Administration
Develop and maintain knowledge of employment laws and regulations, including:- Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA)

- Pregnancy Discrimination Act
- Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA)

Maintain compliance with company policies, procedures, and staffing best practices.
Stay current on labor market trends, staffing industry developments, and local business conditions.
Document all recruiting and sales activities accurately within the Express system.
Prepare routine correspondence and reports as needed.
Resolve timecard, payroll, and billing inquiries.
Assist with collections activities when necessary.

- Experience working with applicant tracking systems or staffing software.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Provides administrative supervision for up to 150 associates assigned to client locations.
Working Conditions & Physical Requirements
- Work is primarily performed in a professional, well-lit, climate-controlled office environment.
- Occasional travel to client locations is required and may involve exposure to varying weather conditions.
- Ability to sit for extended periods and perform computer and telephone-based work.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and perform effectively under pressure.
- Occasional overnight and out-of-town travel may be required.
