Job Overview:

Blue Chip Talent, in partnership with an automotive testing organization, is seeking a skilled Emissions Technician. This role is responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting emission analyzer systems, supporting chassis dyno testing operations, and performing hands-on repairs to ensure system reliability. The position plays a key role in minimizing downtime and supporting continuous lab operations.

Job Duties

  • Maintain and troubleshoot emissions bench systems connected to chassis dynos
  • Diagnose system alarms related to flow rates, temperature, and pressure faults
  • Use diagnostic software to identify and resolve analyzer issues
  • Perform hands-on mechanical repairs including pumps, sensors, and transducers
  • Replace seals, O-rings, fittings, and compression components as needed
  • Conduct leak detection and repair on gas flow systems
  • Interpret electrical schematics and gas flow diagrams for troubleshooting
  • Support chassis dyno testing activities in a cross-functional lab environment

Skills & Experience

Required:

  • 1–3+ years of experience servicing automotive exhaust gas analyzers
  • Hands-on experience with Horiba MEXA-ONE systems
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair emission analyzer equipment
  • Proficiency reading electrical schematics and gas flow diagrams
  • Experience replacing mechanical components (pumps, sensors, fittings, seals)
  • Familiarity with chassis dyno or engine dyno testing environments
  • Ability to document procedures and maintain records using MS Word and Excel
  • Associate degree or equivalent technical training

Desired:

  • Experience with Horiba MEXA-7000 or AVL emission systems
  • Knowledge of emissions testing standards and calibration processes
  • Experience performing leak diagnostics on gas systems
  • Familiarity with analyzer diagnostic software tools
  • Background supporting multi-shift lab operations
  • Experience coordinating with OEM vendors for parts and service
