Blue Chip Talent, in partnership with an automotive technology organization, is seeking a skilled Electronics Technician. This role is responsible for supporting electronics lab operations, performing PCB and harness modifications, conducting functional testing, and assisting with prototype and ECU assembly activities. The ideal candidate brings strong hands-on electronics experience with soldering, troubleshooting, and lab test equipment.
Job Duties
- Support receiving, shipping, and tracking of engineering lab materials and packages
- Manage inventory of electronic components, assemblies, and kit materials for builds and rework
- Perform PCBA modifications including soldering, de-soldering, blue wire modifications, and component rework to IPC standards
- Build wire harnesses and cable assemblies per engineering drawings and IPC/WHMA-A-620 standards
- Assemble and configure custom test equipment based on engineering diagrams and specifications
- Conduct functional testing and validation of electronic assemblies, prototypes, and ECU modules
- Troubleshoot failed units and identify root causes using standard electronic diagnostic equipment
- Maintain detailed records of test results, assembly activities, and procedure updates
Skills & Experience
Required
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in electronics or engineering lab environments
- Associate degree in Electronics Technology, Engineering Technology, or equivalent practical experience
- Experience performing soldering and rework on fine-pitch ICs and 0402 components
- Familiarity with IPC-610 Class 3 workmanship standards
- Experience using electronic test equipment including multimeters, oscilloscopes, and electronic loads
- Ability to read and interpret engineering diagrams, schematics, and assembly documentation
- Experience building wire harnesses and electronic assemblies
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Desired
- Experience supporting electric vehicle or automotive electronics programs
- Familiarity with Jira or similar issue-tracking tools
- Python scripting experience for lab automation or testing support
- IPC-610, IPC-620, IPC-7711, IPC-7721, or J-STD-001 certifications
- Experience assembling and testing ECU modules or engineering prototypes
- Exposure to custom test fixture setup and validation activities
