Job Title: Electronics Engineering Technician
Employment Type: Full-Time Consultant (12-Month Assignment)
Location: Fort Worth, TX
Schedule: Monday-Friday | First Shift (6:00 AM - 3:30 PM)
Pay Rate: $35.00 - $45.00 per hour
As an Electronics Engineering Technician, you'll support critical engineering and development efforts within an advanced Electronic Development Lab. Your expertise will help ensure the successful assembly, maintenance, testing, and troubleshooting of electronic systems that support next-generation aviation technologies.
In this role, you'll work alongside talented engineers and technicians, playing a key part in transforming engineering designs into fully functioning systems that drive innovation in the aerospace industry.
Fabricate interconnecting cables and wire harnesses from engineering drawings and specifications.
Assemble test stations and aircraft electronic assemblies ("black boxes") using manufacturing drawings.
Perform modifications and rework on SMT circuit boards.
Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain laboratory infrastructure and test bench equipment.
Diagnose wiring, connectivity, and electronic system issues using test equipment.
Support laboratory operations by ensuring equipment reliability and performance.
Install and support fiber optic cabling for reflective memory hardware systems.
Build and wire serial data interface systems, including:
ARINC 429
MIL-STD-1553
RS422
RS232
Ethernet
IEEE-488
Interpret aircraft-level wiring diagrams and mechanical fabrication drawings.
Follow ESD procedures and FOD prevention practices.
Safely operate hand tools and shop equipment, including powered and non-powered tools.
Maintain high standards of workmanship and quality in all assembly and repair activities.
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Minimum of 5 years of technical industry experience.
Ability to read and interpret aircraft-level wiring diagrams.
Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings and fabrication diagrams.
Experience crimping and assembling connector contacts and cable assemblies to aircraft standards.
Experience soldering to J-STD standards.
Familiarity with electronic test equipment, troubleshooting, repair, and fault isolation techniques.
Experience with serial data interface wiring and integration.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
Ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds and work in confined spaces for extended periods.
Associate Degree in Engineering or equivalent technical education.
Current or previous J-STD soldering certification.
Military experience related to aircraft maintenance, avionics, systems support, or electronics.
Experience working with SMT equipment and circuit board modifications.
Experience installing and maintaining fiber optic communication systems.
Knowledge of aerospace manufacturing and laboratory operations.
