Job Summary
The Electronics Design Engineer will work with the hardware development team to design and support the Vertiv management platforms.
Responsibilities:
- Use CAD tools to enter schematics and design electronic hardware
- Debug electronic hardware using standard lab tools
- Assist in sustaining shipping products by evaluating alternate electronic components
- Creating technical documentation leading to physical electronic hardware
- Develop design simulations that will ensure success with new hardware
- Develop low-level applications for basic processor functionality
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering
- Motivated self-starter, with a high capacity for learning and meticulous attention to detail
- Ability to work with other engineers in a team environment
- Interested in designing electronic devices
- Good verbal and written communication in English
- Working knowledge of laboratory equipment, oscilloscope, logic analyzer
- Understanding of schematic entry tools required
- Basic understanding of standard electronic communication protocols; ethernet, USB, I2C, SPI, PCIe, etc. required
- Basic understanding of design and operation of embedded compute platforms required
- Understanding of Verilog HDL, a plus
- Understanding of Mentor Graphics schematic entry, a plus
- Understanding of simulation tools, such as Hyperlynx, a plus
- Understanding of C, C++, or assembly language, a plus
- Understanding of basic EMI principles, a plus
