Job Overview:

MagTech is seeking an Electronic Repair Technician to troubleshoot, repair, and test industrial electronic equipment at the component level. This role will support the repair of servo drives, spindle drives, PLCs, power supplies, CNC controls, circuit boards, and other industrial automation equipment while ensuring quality, accuracy, and efficiency throughout the repair process.

Compensation: Starting at $21-28 based on education and experience

Location: Wheeling, IL

Type: Direct Hire

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and repair industrial electronic equipment to the component level.
  • Diagnose technical issues using schematics, wiring diagrams, and electronic test equipment.
  • Perform soldering, component replacement, and functional testing.
  • Repair servo drives, spindle drives, PLCs, power supplies, CNC controls, monitors, and circuit boards.
  • Utilize oscilloscopes, multimeters, function generators, and other testing equipment.
  • Document repair activities, diagnostics, parts replaced, and test results.
  • Maintain an organized work area and perform routine maintenance on repair and testing equipment.
  • Participate in technical and safety training programs.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma and Technical School Certification in Electronics or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of electronics, electrical principles, and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
  • Experience with soldering and component-level repairs.
  • Basic computer and data entry skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a team environment.

Preferred

  • Associate Degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
  • Experience repairing industrial electronics, automation equipment, or CNC controls.
  • Experience with PLCs, servo drives, spindle drives, inverters, and power supplies.
  • Familiarity with oscilloscopes, multimeters, and other electronic test equipment.

Additional Information

Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM schedule with overtime available as needed.
