Responsibilities:
The Electromechanical Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and improving both mechanical and electrical systems throughout the manufacturing facility. This role combines traditional millwright duties with industrial electrical maintenance to support equipment reliability, minimize downtime, and improve plant performance. Electromechanical technicians typically maintain and repair equipment that combines electrical and mechanical systems, including preventive maintenance and diagnostics.
- Install, inspect, troubleshoot, repair, rebuild, and maintain industrial mechanical equipment, including conveyors, pellet mills, hammermills, gearboxes, bearings, shafts, couplings, pumps, augers, fans, blowers, rotary valves, drag conveyors, bucket elevators, screw conveyors, and other production equipment.
- Troubleshoot and repair industrial electrical systems up to 480 volts in accordance with company safety procedures.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair 24-volt electrical circuits, 4-20 mA circuits, and sensors/thermocouples using voltmeters, meggers, and 4-20 mA clamp meters.
- Diagnose and repair electric motors, motor starters, overloads, relays, contactors, motor control centers (MCCs), and variable frequency drives (VFDs).
- Install, align, and replace electric motors, pumps, gearboxes, bearings, shafts, sprockets, chains, belts, and other mechanical power transmission components.
- Troubleshoot hydraulic and pneumatic systems, including cylinders, valves, pumps, compressors, regulators, and associated controls.
- Perform preventive, predictive, corrective, and emergency maintenance to maximize equipment reliability and minimize unplanned downtime.
- Read and interpret mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, blueprints, equipment manuals, and technical specifications.
- Utilize precision measuring instruments and diagnostic tools to identify equipment failures.
- Assist in troubleshooting automated production equipment, sensors, proximity switches, photo eyes, level controls, and other industrial instrumentation.
- Support installation, commissioning, and startup of new equipment and plant improvement projects.
- Complete work orders, preventive maintenance inspections, equipment documentation, and maintenance records accurately within the CMMS.

Schedule/Shift DetailsQualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Technical degree or vocational training in Industrial Maintenance, Electrical Technology, Electromechanical Technology, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of five years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing, processing, or heavy industrial environment.
- Demonstrated experience troubleshooting both mechanical and industrial electrical systems.
- Working knowledge of AC/DC motors, motor controls, VFDs, MCCs, hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, and industrial power transmission equipment.
- Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, rigging equipment, forklifts, aerial lifts, and other maintenance equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and electrical schematics.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and CMMS software preferred.
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting abilities.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to prioritize work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.

- Work is performed in a heavy industrial manufacturing environment with exposure to dust, noise, vibration, heat, moving mechanical equipment, and varying weather conditions. The position requires standing, walking, climbing ladders, kneeling, crouching, reaching, lifting up to 50 pounds, and working in elevated or confined spaces. Employees must wear all required PPE and be willing to work rotating shifts, weekends, holidays, overtime, and emergency callouts as operational needs require.
