The Electropolisher
is responsible for processing parts according to established production requirements, maintaining equipment and chemical systems, and ensuring all products meet quality standards.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Follow work orders, routers, and production instructions to ensure proper processing requirements are met.
- Load and unload parts onto fixtures and operate equipment according to established machine settings and cycle times.
- Set and adjust processing parameters including voltage, amperage, temperature, and processing time based on routing specifications.
- Inspect parts throughout the production process using gauges, microscopes, surface analyzers, and other measuring tools to verify quality standards.
- Monitor and maintain chemical solutions to ensure proper operating conditions.
- Observe gauges, control panels, and timers to verify equipment is operating safely and efficiently.
- Perform routine equipment maintenance, including cleaning tanks, replenishing solutions, cleaning contacts, and maintaining cathode bars.
- Follow all safety procedures and quality standards while maintaining a clean and organized work area.
- Report equipment malfunctions, quality concerns, or safety issues to supervision promptly.
- Assist with waste treatment and environmental compliance procedures as required.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Basic math, reading, and written communication skills.
- Basic computer proficiency for data entry and production tracking.
- Understanding of chemical safety practices and ability to complete required safety training.
- Knowledge of electropolishing (EP) systems, controls, tooling, and fixtures preferred.
- Knowledge of passivation systems, controls, tooling, and fixtures preferred.
- Familiarity with wash systems, controls, tooling, and fixtures.
- Understanding of waste treatment processes and environmental procedures is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to follow written instructions, procedures, and production schedules.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a manufacturing environment.
