Job Summary
An Assembler will be responsible for producing high precision assemblies or components with strict adherence to the established instructions. The job requires attention to fine detail and an ability to maintain consistent process proven by frequent in process inspection. In addition to processing parts, an assembler will be performing testing in some cases. An assembler will also maintain all required build records and participate in process improvements.
Job Responsibilities
Core Job Duties:
- Use tools and equipment to produce high precision assemblies or components and meet daily production targets
- May require the use of test equipment to measurements of completed work and work in process
- Weight, properly label and transfer chemicals and adhesives for use in assembly
- Communicate with lead, supervisor or area manager about any issues or problems in production immediately
- Process parts or components on jobs in que 100% of your available time
- Ensure that all required data entry is occurring for each job and that all required information is being accurately entered
- Adhere to check good pass good inspection criteria and in process inspection for all jobs, this includes daily calibration and expiration checks for all areas work is to be done.
- Strict adherence to trained process / work instruction and ownership of communicating any inconsistencies, questions or issues
- Clean and maintain tooling, machinery and work area daily
- Follow all company safety precautions, policies and procedures.
Qualifications, Requirements and Competencies
Educational Requirements:
- Experience in a production environment related to the department or equivalent work experience desired
- IPC J-STD-001 soldering certification is not required but is a plus
- GED or High School diploma – prefer vocational education
Minimum Requirements:
- Familiarity with computers to include but not limited to Microsoft Office
- Proficient math skills
- Ability to follow, repeat and adhere to detailed instructions while maintaining an attention to detail
- Ability to work in a challenging, fast paced and high-stress environment
- Good mental dexterity and visual acuity
- Excellent communication skills
- Can maintain clean environment and works to maintain the environment as such.
- Good time management skills
Language Skills:
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret complex documents. Ability to communicate effectively to team members and management.

Physical Demands:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, reach with hands and arms and to use hands and fingers to handle, maneuver parts
- The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk and hear
- The job may involve prolong periods of sitting/standing
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. May involve prolonged periods of magnified inspection (eye strain)
- Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp
- The employee is frequently required to use the computer
- The job may require regular lifting of up to 50 lbs.
- Job requires flexibility in schedule and potential overtime or weekend work
Work Environment:
- May involve the use of oils and solvents.
- Subject to some soilage from cleaning solutions. (Lab Coats provided)
- Generally, works in a clean environment and works to maintain the environment as such.
- Safety Glasses are required
- May require area specific safety training
- This position works in a manufacturing environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
- The employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne paper particles.
- May work at different workstations as needs require
