Job Overview:

As the Maintenance Technician on the weekday night shift, you will be the primary person responsible for maintaining equipment associated with our plastic extrusion production, packaging and distribution through preventative, predictive and corrective maintenance.

Shift: Monday to Thursday, 3:00PM to 1:00AM.

What you will do:

  • Practice safety at all times in compliance with Pacur's policies and procedures
  • Install, maintain, troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic systems and equipment
  • Install, maintain and troubleshoot AC and DC drives and motors
  • Troubleshoot PLC programs
  • Effectively troubleshoot and maintain temperature and pressure control systems
  • Welding, machining and fabricating as needed
  • Conduct root cause analysis to ensure corrective actions are appropriate and reduce the risk of repeat failures
  • Support building and grounds maintenance activities
  • Communicate effectively with operations team members to identify and resolve equipment failures or inefficiencies
  • Effectively share information with maintenance team members on other shifts
  • Record maintenance services performed as well as materials used during the repairs

What are the education and skill requirements?

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Completed a Mechanical/Electrician Apprenticeship Program or a related Associates Degree or equivalent military education/training
  • Journeyman Card is required - electrical and/or millwright
  • Experience in performing electrical work in compliance with NFPA 70E
  • Ability to read and understand mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic schematics
  • Ability to collaboratively in a team environment
  • Strong problem solving and decision-making skills

What are the physical requirements?

  • Ability to regularly lift 50 pounds without assistance
  • Ability to walk, stand, bend, squat, climb ladders and stairs
  • Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces
  • Ability to work outdoors based on project requirements
