Maintenance Technician
The Maintenance Technician must maintain the day-to-day operations of the facility and to assume responsibility for maintaining the physical asset of the machines and equipment on the plant floor under the direction of the Director of Maintenance. This position will be responsible for keeping production machines operating on all shifts at maximum capacity with minimum downtime in order to maintain overall efficiency and productivity. The Maintenance Technician must follow all Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) requirements and complies with all local, state, and federal regulatory requirements
Essential Functions/Skills

- Complete grounds work as directed by Director of Maintenance which may include picking up trash, sweeping curbs, and clearing walkways during inclement weather.
- Assist the Maintenance Technician II on various projects
- Perform routine preventive maintenance to the machines to ensure that they operate efficiently and that the physical condition does not deteriorate.
- Completes work orders following proper operating procedures in as timely, safe, and as efficient manner as possible.
- Responsible for alerting the Director of Maintenance of any unusual occurrence and/or damage that have taken place or that may occur
- Assist in monitoring all work being performed by outside contractors
- Coordinate special projects as directed by the Director of Maintenance
- Ensure compliance of all work-related activities in a fair, ethical, and consistent manner
- Assure safety standards are used which comply with all company, local, city, state and federal guidelines.
- Follow established company policies and those outlined in the Employee Handbook
- Maintain a professional courteous manner with all vendors, contractors and fellow employees
- Carry cell phone as required for on-call maintenance
- Work within expense limits
- Cleans spills in work area from machines or tools.
- Maintains a proper inventory of parts and supplies; completing requisitions as needed.
- Interacts with operators and production supervisors to determine defect solutions.
- Direct and assist with training lower level staff to install, maintain, or repair equipment including print reading and electronic documentation.
- Observes mechanical devices in operation, listens to sounds, and watches processes to locate areas of trouble.

Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment
Most of the work will be performed in manufacturing facilities where the noise level may be loud and the temperature is uncontrolled.
Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk, stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms. The job requires exerting 50 to 100 lbs of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50 lbs of force frequently, and/or 10 to 20 lbs of force constantly.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work/Other Duties
This is a full-time position with a 12 hour work schedule/hours, but the employee must agree to variation in work schedules/hours and overtime as well as be on-call occasionally. All overtime is mandatory and could be required on short notice.

This position may require travel – very minimum travel potential.
Education and Experience
- Requires at least 5 years of relevant working experience in a manufacturing environment
- LOTO (Lock Out/Tag Out)
- Familiar with OSHA rules and regulations
- Excellent communication, coaching and training skills
- Ability to multi-task – possess analytical skills and critical thinking skills
