**Position Overview

**

As an Electro- Mechanical Assembler, you will support a broad range of activities in a dynamic, high energy production environment with a strong focus on safety and quality in the assembly of electrical Racks, panels and harnesses for the best High-Speed Trains in the world.

**What you will be doing:

**

  • Mechanical assembly of control panels, racks and harnesses according to engineering schematics, drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
  • Read and understand electrical schematics, wire lists, assembly drawings, bills of materials, and assembly instructions.
  • Safely use hand and power tools.
  • Certification for the use of some tools and equipment may be required, such as crane, forklift and fall protection equipment.
  • Complete work order documentation, quality documents, and accurately clock labor hours.
  • Meet company standards for quality and workmanship
  • Meet production schedule, quality requirements, and budgeted labor hours with limited supervision.
  • Explain assembly procedures and techniques to fellow workers.
  • Follow all safety requirements, including use of all required personal protective equipment (PPE). Contribute to and maintain conditions that ensure a healthy and safe work environment.

**To thrive in this role, you have:

**

  • High school education or GED

  • Basic English skills – ability to read and understand written instructions and effectively communicate verbally.

  • Ability to read, write and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, memos, and technical documentation.

  • General mechanical/electrical technical background.

  • Motivation and ability to work independently with minimum supervision, as well as to work collaboratively in small teams.

**We would be impressed if you have:

**

  • A good understanding of metric system measurements.
  • 3-5 years of previous experience in the assembly of electrical sub-assemblies for heavy vehicles or machines (e.g. trucks, military equipment, airplanes, ships, etc.)

Physical Demands:

  • Frequently walk, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

  • Frequently required to climb, such as, but not limited to stairs, steps, and ladders.

  • Frequently required to work on elevated platforms.

  • Performs work overhead.

  • Lift and move no more than 40 pounds.

  • Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus.

  • Candidates should be willing to work in non-climate-controlled environments and inclement weather if required or if applicable

The salary for this position is $22.75/hr. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.

The position requires extensive travel in the United States and internationally for extended periods of time for at least the first twenty-four (24) months and possibly longer to complete in-person job training, which will be vital to your and the Horseheads facility’s success. Travel and in person training are essential job requirements and are a condition of your employment in this role. Please note the Company will pay for all business expenses related to the travel consistent with Company policy and guidelines.
