Job Description

A well-established electrical contractor is seeking an experienced Journeyman Electrician to join their team in New Haven, CT. This position offers the opportunity to work on a variety of commercial, industrial, and residential electrical projects while utilizing strong technical skills and electrical knowledge.

The ideal candidate will have a Connecticut Journeyman Electrician license, strong troubleshooting abilities, and experience working safely and efficiently on active jobsites.

Responsibilities

  • Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electrical systems.

  • Perform electrical work on commercial, industrial, and residential projects.

  • Install and service electrical panels, transformers, lighting systems, and related equipment.

  • Troubleshoot electrical systems and diagnose issues efficiently.

  • Perform electrical inspections and identify potential problems.

  • Read and interpret electrical drawings, blueprints, and schematics.

  • Install and retrofit lighting systems, including LED systems.

  • Assist with high-voltage electrical projects and equipment installations.

  • Use electrical testing equipment, hand tools, and power tools safely.

  • Ensure all work complies with applicable electrical codes and safety regulations.

  • Coordinate with project managers, foremen, customers, and other trades.

  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.

  • Travel to project sites throughout Connecticut as needed.

Qualifications

  • Valid Connecticut Journeyman Electrician license required.

  • Previous commercial, industrial, or residential electrical experience.

  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, wiring, panels, and equipment.

  • Ability to read and interpret electrical plans and schematics.

  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

  • Knowledge of NEC requirements and electrical safety practices.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

  • Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
