Industrial Maintenance Technician – Electrical Focus

Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled, hands-on Industrial Maintenance Technician with a strong electrical background to support the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of industrial machinery, electrical systems, and facility equipment.

The ideal candidate will have 3–5 years of experience working in an industrial or manufacturing environment, with demonstrated expertise in electrical troubleshooting, relay systems, motor controls, and 110V/220V electrical applications, including three-phase equipment.

This position requires someone who is comfortable working directly on industrial equipment, diagnosing electrical and mechanical failures, performing repairs, and keeping machinery operating safely and efficiently.

Strong electrical relay knowledge and the ability to independently troubleshoot industrial electrical systems are especially important for this position.

Key Responsibilities

Industrial Electrical Maintenance & Troubleshooting

  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, and maintain industrial electrical systems and manufacturing equipment.

  • Work with 110V and 220V electrical systems and three-phase industrial equipment.

  • Diagnose and repair electrical relays, contactors, control circuits, motor starters, and related electrical components.

  • Identify electrical faults using multimeters, electrical testing equipment, schematics, and wiring diagrams.

  • Troubleshoot electrical problems involving industrial motors, switches, sensors, and machine controls.

  • Repair and replace defective wiring, electrical components, controls, and associated equipment.

  • Perform preventive maintenance and electrical safety inspections to minimize downtime.

Industrial Equipment & Mechanical Maintenance

  • Perform hands-on maintenance and repairs on industrial production machinery and related equipment.

  • Diagnose electrical and mechanical equipment failures and determine appropriate corrective actions.

  • Assist with machinery installation, equipment adjustments, and component replacement.

  • Inspect motors, drives, and other mechanical components for proper operation.

  • Support general plant maintenance activities as needed.

  • Respond to unexpected equipment breakdowns and restore equipment to operation efficiently.

Preventive Maintenance & Safety

  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on electrical and mechanical equipment.

  • Inspect, test, and calibrate equipment as required.

  • Read and interpret electrical blueprints, wiring diagrams, technical manuals, and equipment specifications.

  • Follow established electrical safety procedures, including lockout/tagout (LOTO).

  • Maintain accurate records of repairs, inspections, and maintenance activities.

  • Coordinate with operations and maintenance personnel to resolve equipment problems.

  • Participate in emergency maintenance response and rotating on-call coverage as required.

Required Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of industrial maintenance or industrial electrical experience.

  • Strong hands-on electrical troubleshooting and repair capabilities.

  • Working knowledge of electrical relays, relay logic, contactors, and motor control circuits.

  • Experience working with 110V/220V electrical systems and three-phase industrial equipment.

  • Ability to troubleshoot electrical issues on industrial machinery independently.

  • Experience using electrical testing instruments and interpreting electrical schematics.

  • Mechanical aptitude and willingness to perform general industrial maintenance.

  • Ability to diagnose equipment failures and complete repairs in a manufacturing or industrial environment.

  • High school diploma or GED.

  • Ability to work safely around energized electrical systems and moving industrial equipment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Formal electrical apprenticeship, technical training, or industrial maintenance certification.

  • Experience with industrial motors, motor starters, and control panels.

  • Knowledge of PLC-controlled machinery and variable frequency drives (VFDs).

  • Experience maintaining conveyors, gearboxes, drives, and other production equipment.

  • Experience with preventive maintenance programs and equipment reliability.

  • Electrician licensing or registration where applicable.
