SUMMARY
Maintenance Electrician Class I can perform electrical work equivalent to fourth year Electricians in certain types of work, but will require more supervision and instructions. Employees shall know all types of industrial electrical work and he shall be familiar with the National Electrical code. They shall be able to work from drawings or clear sketches and be able to take their own field measurements with minimum to average supervision. They shall be able to work effectively from verbal and written instructions with minimum supervisions. They may be assigned work in other classifications for training.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High School diploma, Associates degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and /or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. The ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common send understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
OSHA safety courses are preferred.
