Dynetics, a wholly owned subsidiary of Leidos, is seeking a talented CAD Design Engineer to join a diverse team to create unique solutions for complex problems. With offices across the United States engaging in the defense, space, cyber and commercial fields, Dynetics provides responsive, cost-effective engineering, scientific and IT solutions.
Candidate will work with a group of design engineers to support design, development and deployment of advanced sensor systems. Position will require development of CAD packages (using SolidWorks, AutoCAD and Visio) for the production and documentation of system components. Designed parts will range from structural components to integrated electronic assemblies and supporting cable harnesses for electrical systems.
The ideal candidate will bring familiarity with CAD software and understanding of basic design practices and concepts, with strong rapid prototyping skills that include design for 3D printing, CNC machining and a self-starting maker/fabricator approach to problem solving.
Candidate must have a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a STEM discipline from an ABET accredited school with 3+ years of direct applicable experience.
HS diploma and 5 years of direct applicable experience in lieu of a BS degree will be acceptable.
Position requires demonstrated expertise in design work using a CAD package similar to SolidWorks.
Ability to design for rapid prototyping and fabrication in a dynamic environment.
Ability to assemble and integrate systems in field settings, perform field maintenance.
Regular travel to test sites (up to 25%), is required.
Candidate must be a resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville - North Alabama, AL area.
Preference will be given to candidates who enjoy designing and assembling unique, complex hardware and with expertise in Solidworks and experience creating 2D/3D drawing packages.
Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess (and be able to maintain) a Final Secret Clearance or meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Secret Clearance.
