Blue Chip Talent, in partnership with a defense and advanced vehicle engineering organization, is seeking a skilled Prototype Center Electrical Technician. This role is responsible for assembling and troubleshooting vehicle electrical systems, fabricating and repairing harnesses, and supporting prototype combat vehicle builds. The ideal candidate brings hands-on military vehicle electrical assembly experience and the ability to work from engineering drawings, specifications, and work instructions in a fast-paced prototype environment.
Job Duties
- Assemble electrical harnesses, electronic systems, and prototype vehicle equipment
- Fabricate, route, and repair open and molded electrical harnesses
- Perform soldering and crimping of connectors, terminals, and circuit boards
- Support assembly of vehicle systems including chassis, drive systems, armor systems, and power systems
- Read and interpret electrical and mechanical blueprints, schematics, and engineering drawings
- Assemble military-grade electrical connectors including D38999, MS5015, Deutsch series, and related connector families
- Perform high voltage system assembly, troubleshooting, and testing on vehicle electrical systems
- Utilize electrical assembly hand tools, DMC crimpers, soldering equipment, and power tools safely and effectively
- Provide feedback on assembly process improvements and design enhancements
- Adapt to engineering changes and prototype rework activities as required
Skills & Experience
Required
- High School Diploma or GED
- Experience soldering connectors, terminals, and circuit boards
- Experience fabricating and repairing electrical harnesses
- Working knowledge of electrical harness assembly tools, crimpers, and soldering equipment
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, manuals, and engineering drawings
- Experience assembling military electrical connectors including D38999, MS5015, M82723, M85049, M3100, and Deutsch series
- Experience with high voltage electrical systems including motors, generators, harnesses, and electronics
- Ability to perform assembly work from written, verbal, and drawing-based instructions
Desired
- Electronics certifications such as CET, IPC, IND, or AVN
- Experience supporting prototype or low-volume vehicle builds
- Experience with military combat vehicle electrical systems
- Knowledge of high voltage safety procedures and troubleshooting techniques
- Experience with electronic circuit board assembly and repair
- Familiarity with 3D models, planning documents, and technical assembly specifications
- Higher education degree in electronics, electrical technology, or related field
- Experience contributing to assembly or process improvement initiatives
