We are seeking an Industrial Electrician to join our Construction Services Group in San Diego, CA. This position primarily supports electrical work for small construction projects, tenant improvements, and facility modifications.
The Industrial Electrician will focus on installing, modifying, and troubleshooting commercial/industrial electrical systems and equipment in accordance with applicable codes and standards. The role may also include limited support of other trades (such as drywall repair, painting, minor plumbing, and basic building repairs) as needed to complete electrical work and support project teams; however, electrical work is the primary responsibility.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on, self-driven individual with strong commercial/industrial electrical experience who is comfortable working in a construction-oriented environment and collaborating with other trades to complete projects safely and efficiently.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:- Lead and support small construction and renovation projects involving electrical installations, modifications, and repairs.
- Install, modify, and troubleshoot commercial/industrial electrical systems and equipment under applicable codes and standards.
- Perform tenant improvements and facility electrical upgrades (lighting, outlets, circuits, equipment power, panels, etc.).
- Plan and execute electrical tasks from drawings, one-line diagrams, and field instructions with minimal supervision.
- Coordinate with project managers, supervisors, and other trades to sequence electrical work and support overall project schedules.
- Provide field support to electrical, HVAC, and plumbing technicians during project execution when required.
- Perform limited drywall repairs, patching, texturing, and painting as needed to close out electrical work.
- Assist with basic HVAC and plumbing tasks under supervision on an as-needed basis.
- Perform general building repairs related to electrical work and support ongoing project activities.
- Safely operate hand and power tools, including basic electrical test equipment (multimeters, testers, etc.).
- Follow all safety procedures, lockout/tagout requirements, and company policies.

Job Qualifications
- Typically requires education or formal training equivalent to the completion of a two-year technical degree or trade school equivalency as well as five or more years of progressive experience in operation, repair, and maintenance of electrical equipment Equivalent professional experience may be substituted in lieu of education.
- 5+ years of experience in commercial or industrial electrical work is required.
- Experience supporting small construction projects, tenant improvements, or facility electrical modifications.
- Solid electrical knowledge, including:
- Working safely with energized and de-energized circuits in accordance with company procedures
- Running conduit, pulling wire, installing devices, and performing electrical troubleshooting
- Ability to read and follow electrical layouts, one-line diagrams, prints, and field instructions
- Working knowledge of construction practices and building systems.
- Ability to safely operate hand and power tools and basic electrical test instruments.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with team members, vendors, and tenants, and a willingness to assist other trades when needed to support project completion.
- Good verbal and written communication skills to document and report work performed.
- Basic computer skills (email, work order systems, basic documentation).
- Valid California driver’s license with a good driving record.
