Job Overview:

Join the Team That Builds Life-Saving Vehicles

Why Life Line?

At Life Line, you won’t just build parts — you’ll help build ambulances that save lives every day. When you join our team, you become part of something bigger. We foster a supportive, team-oriented environment where your skills grow, your hard work is valued, and your contributions truly make a difference.

Position Summary

The Electrical Technical Lead is responsible for finding electrical problems before trucks leave the line and stopping them from being built in again. This role owns the run room and serves as the line’s go-to technical resource for hard electrical problems, while performing the full range of electrical assembly work. It offers a top troubleshooter a growth path that stays on the production floor. Attention to detail, teamwork, and a commitment to safety are essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own run room test standards and procedures, and direct and train the run room technician (approx. 40% of time)
  • Trace run room defects to where they were created (zone 4, zone 5, a harness, a drawing, or a supplier part) and follow up with the owning supervisor until the fix holds (approx. 25% of time)
  • Act as liaison to engineering on build issues and design changes (approx. 20% of time)
  • Write troubleshooting guides and common-failure references, and help train new electricians (approx. 15% of time)
  • Follow SOPs, quality checks, and documentation requirements
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
  • Collaborate with team members, the Electrical Supervisor, and other departments to meet production schedules
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to quality, safety, and efficiency

Skills and Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Electrical assembly experience in manufacturing, automotive, RV, marine, or a similar industry, with a track record as a go-to troubleshooter
  • Strong ability to read electrical schematics and wiring diagrams
  • Skilled use of hand tools, power tools, and electrical testing equipment
  • Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship
  • Ability to explain problems clearly and train others on the floor
  • Ability to work with supervisors across departments without direct authority over their teams

Preferred Experience

  • Experience in ambulance, emergency vehicle, automotive, or specialty vehicle manufacturing
  • Experience leading or training other electricians, or serving as a team lead
  • Root cause problem solving (for example, 5 Whys) and writing work instructions or troubleshooting guides
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing or structured production environments

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Prolonged standing, bending, kneeling, reaching, and climbing
  • Ability to work in confined spaces within vehicles
  • Use of required personal protective equipment (PPE)

Work Environment

  • Exposure to noise, dust, adhesives, and machinery
  • The Electrical Technical Lead works in a manufacturing environment, including the run room and production line, with exposure to moving equipment, hand tools, and electrical components.

Contingencies of Employment

  • Successful completion of a background check, pre-employment drug screen and physical examination.
  • Successful completion of a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check, if applicable to the position.
