Summary
This position assists and supports others in a department, subdivision, function or project. The position
relies primarily on established policies, procedures, and applicable work practices to make decisions as
they apply to the job duties and responsibilities.

Scope
Operating under detailed instructions and review, the purpose of this position is to provide the essential
technical knowledge and perform the work listed. This role has the responsibility to promote Fluor's
competitiveness within the global marketplace by delivering quality services of unmatched value and
technical competence. The purpose of this position is to work on design and perform 3D layout of
moderate to complex advanced scope and may serve as Design Area Lead.

U.S. Citizenship required.

Principal Job Duties & Responsibilities
• Conduct review of model using 3D review platform and create 3D models of moderate to
advanced complexity
• Apply project drawing standards to design drawings and 3D layout
• Prepare 2D Computer Aided Design (CAD) drawings of moderate to advanced complexity
• Prepare layouts and/or schematics for conceptual and detailed designs of moderate to
advanced complexity
• Check work done by other Designers
• Develop and review project Scope of Services, Scope of Facilities, and other project baseline
documents for all phases of projects
• Develop estimates, schedules, staffing requirements, progress reports, and key quantities
tracking reports
• Incorporate health, safety, and environmental factors in design
• Review drawings and vendor equipment documentation of moderate to advanced complexity
within the discipline and from other disciplines for compliance with project requirements, and
actively seek discrepancy resolution
• Review fabricator drawings
• Perform bulk material take-off analysis and tabulations
• Deliver quality work, and adhere to the Operating System Requirements (OSR)
• Execute project work in accordance with approved Activity Plans
• Provide close interface with, and promote the understanding of, other discipline functions
• Engage Fluor’s global community, promoting a OneFluor mindset
• Adhere to industry codes and standards as well as department practices and procedures
• Participate in people development through mentoring of less experienced Designers including
performance appraisal input and counseling
• Contribute to and promote the use of Fluor’s knowledge management portals and communities
• Support Functional Process Lead and Department Manager on initiatives
• Maintain compliance with all applicable policies, procedures, and global standards
• Plan, organize, and carry out assignments as directed
• Adhere to and support Fluor’s Health, Safety& Environmental and Sustainability Policies
• Effectively develop and apply the Core Skills to the job
• May need to travel to attend to business related matters
• Meet expectations on attendance and punctuality
• Other duties as assigned

Basic Job Requirements

• Accredited two (2) year degree or global equivalent in technical field of study, or; A
combination of education and directly related experience equal to ten (10) years*;some
locations may have additional or different qualifications in order to comply with local
requirements
• Ability to communicate effectively with audiencesthat include but are not limited to
management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors
• Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job
• Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local,state/province, and federal/national
statutes and guidelines
• Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner
• Knowledge of commercial availability and cost of materials
• Practical field experience
• Intermediate computer and software skills to include the use of word processing, e-mail,
spreadsheet and electronic presentation programs

Working Conditions
• Generally favorable indoor office workspace, and/or;
• Various levels of environmental conditions including but not limited to project worksites and
vendor/client facilities which may have temporary office space, moving mechanical parts and
vibration; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles and extreme temperatures and
high noise levels

Preferred Qualifications

• Perform advanced design calculations(lighting,raceway sizing and wire sizing)
• Perform intermediate design calculations(voltage drop, cable pulling, panel board and breaker
sizing, and junction box sizing
• Perform electrical material take-off
• Perform field assistance
• Advanced knowledge of:
o 2D Computer Aided Design (CAD) and 3D CAD systems and procedures
o Hexagon Smart® Electrical software
o Hexagon Smart® Plant 3D (S3D) software
o 3D modeling software (Hexagon Smart® 3D, etc.)
o Fluor design guides, electrical technical practices, electrical design drawings
o Electrical design requirements(grounding/earthing, lighting, wiring, motors, conduit fill
and sizing, panel boards and hazardous locations)
o Knowledge of commercial availability and cost of materials
o Experience with design of systems, structures and components for nuclear facilities under the
requirements of ASME NQA-1
o Practical field experience
o EPC project experience for the following industries:
o U.S Department of Energy or other U.S. Federal Government Agency
o Nuclear facilities under a nuclear quality assurance program
o Manufacturing, pharmaceutical or biotechnology

The market rate for the role is typically at the mid-point of the salary range; however, variations in final salary are determined by additional factors such as the candidate’s qualifications, relevant years of experience, geographic location, internal pay equity, and prevailing market conditions for the specific role.
