Electrical Maintenance Technician – 1st Shift
We are looking for an experiencedElectrical Maintenance Technicianto join our1st Shift team. This is a hands-on maintenance position for a highly skilled technician withadvanced electrical troubleshooting and repair experience.
Electrical expertise is the #1 priority for this position.The ideal candidate will be very strong electrically and comfortable troubleshooting industrial electrical systems from24V up to 480V, using a Fluke multimeter and electrical schematics to accurately diagnose and repair equipment.
We are looking for someone who canindependently troubleshoot electrical problems, identify the root cause of failures, and make repairs—not someone with only basic electrical exposure.
Key Responsibilities
- Performadvanced electrical troubleshooting and repairon industrial equipment and electrical systems ranging from24V to 480V.
- Use aFluke multimeterand other electrical test equipment to diagnose electrical faults and determine root causes.
- Troubleshoot motors, controls, sensors, relays, contactors, drives, and other electrical components.
- Demonstratebasic-to-intermediate PLC knowledge, including understanding PLC inputs/outputs and troubleshooting equipment controlled by PLCs.
- Reset and troubleshootVFDs/drivesand assist with control-system troubleshooting.
- Read and interpretelectrical schematics, wiring diagrams, mechanical drawings, and blueprints.
- Repair, replace, and troubleshoothydraulic pumps and valves.
- Perform mechanical repairs and replacements involvingchains, belts, sprockets, rollers, bearings, and shafts.
- Diagnose equipment failures and perform preventative and corrective maintenance.
- Work safely around electrical systems and industrial machinery while following all applicable safety procedures.
- Maintain a strong sense of urgency and ownership when responding to equipment breakdowns.
Required Qualifications
ADVANCED ELECTRICAL EXPERIENCE – REQUIRED
- Strong industrial electrical troubleshooting experience is REQUIRED.
- Must be highly proficient troubleshooting electrical systems from24V through 480V.
- Must be experienced using aFluke multimeterto diagnose electrical faults.
- Must be able to read and understandelectrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
- Must be comfortable troubleshooting motors, controls, sensors, relays, contactors, and drives.
- Basic PLC knowledge is required, including the ability to understandinputs/outputs and perform basic PLC-related troubleshooting.
- Must be comfortable resetting and troubleshooting drives/VFDs.
- Must be able to independently diagnose electrical problems and determine the appropriate repair.
This is NOT an entry-level electrical position. Candidates whose electrical experience is limited to basic maintenance, component replacement, or simple troubleshooting will not be a strong fit. We are specifically seeking a technician with a high level of industrial electrical troubleshooting ability.
Mechanical & Hydraulic Experience
Experience performing mechanical repairs and replacements on:- Chains
- Belts
- Sprockets
- Rollers
- Bearings
- Shafts
Experience repairing or replacinghydraulic pumps and valves.
Ability to troubleshoot hydraulic systems and identify component failures.
Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and blueprints.
Preferred Qualifications
- BasicMIG and/or Stick weldingexperience.
- Crane certification or previous experience working on industrial cranes.
- Additional PLC, controls, automation, or VFD troubleshooting experience.
