Job Overview:

The Neil Jones Food Company is an industry leader, processing superior quality fresh-packed, vine-ripened California tomatoes and Pacific Northwest fruit. Headquartered in Vancouver, Washington, NJFC has been providing our nation’s discerning foodservice, retail, industrial and institutional customers with the finest quality canned and pouched products for over 50 years. NJFC operates three production facilities: Northwest Packing in Vancouver, WA.; San Benito Foods, in Hollister, CA; and Toma-Tek in Firebaugh, CA.  

 

We are looking for an Electrical Maintenance Supervisor to provide supervisory and technical support to Operations. Responsible for the Plant’s overall preventive maintenance program including mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical, steam, water, vacuum and compressed air systems under the direction of the Maintenance Manager. During production, this position assists management in overseeing production throughput, employee safety, supervising labor effectiveness and execution of quality product throughout the shift. Supervises personnel, ensuring a high level of employee productivity while managing departmental resources within budget limitations and effectively supporting an efficient production operation at our TomaTek plant in Firebaugh, CA.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Supervises operation, installation, repair and maintenance of plant electrical equipment and systems under the direction of the department manager.
  • Troubleshoots, directs and coordinates with staff to effectively correct malfunctions with equipment, through determining root cause and eliminating repeated failures.
  • Schedules repair, maintenance, and installation of machines, tools, and equipment to ensure continuous production operation within, but not limited to, an assigned department.
  • Supports operations in equipment start-up, shut down and CIP processes; inspects operating machines and equipment for conformance with operational standards.
  • Determines work priorities and assigns and approves job orders as needed.

 

Requirements: 

  • Associate’s degree in manufacturing operations, engineering, management, or related field; Bachelor’s degree preferred; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience which demonstrates the ability to successfully perform the key responsibilities of the position.
  • 2 years’ experience directly related to electrical maintenance supervisory with process analysis and troubleshooting experience.
  • 2 years’ experience in food processing environment, preferably in the tomato industry, including aseptic processing as well as formulated sauce processing.
  • Bilingual English / Spanish preferred.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test, background check including employment and educational verification, credit screen, and to work extended schedule and weekends during the fresh pack season, typically July to early October.

 

Compensation: 

The salary range is $81,500 - $ 87,400, based on experience and qualifications.
