Job Title: Maintenance Electrical Planner
Location: Norfolk, VA
Shift: Mon-Fri 7:30 - 3:30. Ability to work past our normal schedule while contractors are present after hours. Will need to be able to stay until 5:30 pm during outages normally twice a year for a max of two weeks.
Job Summary:
The Maintenance Electrical Planner is responsible for improving the planning and scheduling efficiency of the department by planning and organizing the activities related to maintenance, repairs and improvements to plant equipment and facilities and lead short-term and long-range planning. This role is responsible for making the most effective use of resources, facilities and equipment while producing the essential handoff from planning to execution.
Responsibilities:
Preparation and planning for all of the electrical predictive/preventive and scheduled jobs completed in maintenance.
Order and track the necessary parts, tools, equipment and resources needed to complete the jobs that are planned.
Collaborate with the Storeroom supervisor on ordering/receiving parts per company guidelines and create and sustain a kitting process for all planned jobs.
Complete planning including parts, safety, and resources for contracted work.
Receive quotes for all contracted work.
Convert job requests made by plant employees to Work Orders and plan the jobs.
Establish a partnership with Production for the planning and release of the equipment.
Work with the Mechanical Planner to provide a weekly Maintenance plan that is ready to be executed.
Lead a weekly meeting presenting the weekly plan to production.
Analyze the time differences between planned job time and actual job time.
Correct the work procedures in the CMMS to take into account any changes that need to be made to the planned hours for jobs.
Assess and control needs for critical spare parts, assist in managing all the electrical documentation, technical files and drawings of new installations with a particular focus on predictive/preventative maintenance planning.
Assist in development of the budget and the development of the plant's SAP CMMS.
Active participation in meetings and discussions on reliability and maintenance strategy, making suggestions to optimize the predictive / preventative maintenance process.
Work with Trades to create PMs for new/modified equipment.
Qualifications:
Electrical experience
Experience navigating a SAP CMMS
Strong organizational, verbal, communication, and planning skills
Extensive attention to detail for planning purposes
Experience with low/medium voltage distribution equipment
Working knowledge of industrial NEC Codes and relevant Electrical Safety Procedures
Experience with Electrical Reliability preferred.
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and/or Google Suite
