GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION

Under minimum supervision, inspects and repairs production, automation, and other facility equipment systems, include mechanical and electrical repairs. Includes electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic controls, servo systems, AC & DC drives, and preventive maintenance.  

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Performs major and minor mechanical and electrical repairs to major types of equipment, including various types of CNC equipment, robots, presses, and other miscellaneous equipment, according to manufacturer technical support instructions, manufacturer’s manuals, factory specifications, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Performs project work as assigned.
  • Dismantles, moves, and installs new and/or existing equipment.
  • Troubleshoots and maintains hydraulic units, pneumatic systems, AC & DC drives, hydraulic controls, and servo systems.
  • Performs metal fabrication projects, include welding, as assigned by Supervision. 
     Participates in team group assignments as assigned by the supervisor.
  • Performs preventive maintenance and inspection of assigned equipment in accordance with maintenance schedule and factory specifications. Reports findings to supervision and takes appropriate actions for repair.
  • Generates purchase requisitions and gives them to the Resource Coordinator for pricing and ordering.
  • Assists Supervision with on-the-job training for fellow mechanics on equipment repairs and maintenance procedures. Serves as a knowledgeable resource for fellow associates. 
     Maintains a clean and orderly workbench area and participates in the Job Cycle Charts for 5S.
  • Seeks to acquire new skills and abilities in order to keep current on updated technology and industrial maintenance.
  • Performs all work in accordance with required safety standards, rules, regulations, and practices in a workmanlike manner.
  • Proactively seeks to provide continuous improvements to existing production equipment.

 

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.
  • Must be able to work overtime as necessary.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE JOB

Education:

  • High School Diploma/Equivalent.
  • LICENSES - Class C

Experience: 

  • Experience in industrial maintenance with some knowledge of PLCs.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Must be able to read and write English;
  • Must meet all physical demands as required to ensure maximum safe level of performance.
  • Minimum Experience:  5+ years relevant experience

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Requires occasional lifting of objects of objects 25 to 50 pounds.
  • Work requires periodic stooping/bending and frequent walking/standing.
  • Work involves activities that require special safety precautions, e.g., working around moving parts, machines, or vehicles.
