About the Role
The primary function of this position is re-servicing, maintaining, and installing instrumentation and electrical equipment for the Hamilton Facility. Responsible for ensuring the maintenance in the plant is accomplished in an environmentally responsible manner, and in compliance with all Safety, Health and Environmental Policy. Based on the results of the Tronox Electrical Maintenance Skills Test and prior relevant experience, this position offers an hourly rate ranging from $35.75 entry level to $45.48 with a minimum of 5 years of related experience. This position is part of the Maintenance department reporting directly to the E&I Supervisor.
The successful candidate will be expected to:
- Calibrate new and replacement equipment and inspect critical in-process equipment (scales, gauges, thermocouples, etc.).
- Perform routine maintenance as assigned by the E&I Supervisor
- Troubleshoot instrumentation and electrical equipment; communicate problem areas to the E&I Supervisor or Maintenance Lead.
- Ensure critical instrumentation is maintained as outlined in maintenance operating procedures and guidelines
- Support the call-out program and work overtime as required
- Work swing shift (3p-11p) as required
- Perform electrical and instrumentation maintenance to support safe, reliable, and compliant operation of plant equipment and control systems
- Troubleshoot, repair, modify, upgrade and install electrical and instrumentation components using proper diagnostic tools, technical drawings, and schematics
- Complete preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities to improve equipment reliability and reduce unplanned downtime
- Work collaboratively with operations, engineering, and maintenance teams to resolve equipment issues and restore systems to service
- Follow all safety procedures, electrical work practices, and regulatory requirements while working on energized and deenergized systems
- Perform core electrical and instrumentation tasks including setting up and calibrating density meters, working with GE Power Vac switchgear, loading and replacing programs in PanelView interfaces and PLC processors, configuring multivariable transmitters, and supporting burner management system functionality to ensure safe and dependable plant operation
- Train and qualify in specialized E&I skills, such as chlorinator rebuilds, motor circuit testing (PDMA), conduit bending and installation, atomizer rebuilds, critical instrument calibration, substation and switchgear maintenance, or fiber optic system work, based on departmental needs.

About You
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Associates degree in a related discipline and 1 year of maintenance experience OR Successful completion of the Tronox Internship Program OR 5 years industrial electrical experience required.
- Must score 75 or higher on the Electrical Maintenance skills test
- Successful completion of the Tronox Maintenance Curriculum
- Professional communication skills
- Excellent human relationship skills
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.
- Must have no active corrective action on file.
- Must have MX or higher rating on the most recent year-end performance evaluation.
Physical Requirements
- Must have no facial hair that interferes with the sealing surface of a respirator which would include hair below the top lip (such as beards, goatees, or excessive sideburns.)
- Occasionally ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, etc. and moving self in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments.
- Regularly perform repetitive motions involving hands and wrists, and operating machinery, tools, vehicles and heavy equipment.
- Occasionally working in varied environments that may include extreme weather conditions (hot, cold, and rainy weather), elevated noisy areas, poor ventilation, confined and tight spaces.
- Occasionally move and adjust objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Constantly communicating with others to exchange information and assessing the accuracy, neatness and thoroughness of the work assigned.
