Job Overview:

The Quality Inspector is responsible for inspecting components and testing assembled electrical equipment as necessary to meet Powell customer requirements.

  • Inspect electrical components at incoming, in-process, and final points during the manufacturing process.
  • Inspect & test manufactured electrical equipment (AC Switchgear, DC switchgear, Rectifiers, Switch Tanks, PCR, etc.).
  • Interface with manufacturing, engineering, shipping, and customers.
  • Attend department safety and training meetings.
  • Adhere to all company policies and safety rules.
  • Record manufacturing and engineering discrepancies.
  • Complete all test/inspection documentation.
  • Participate in Customer visits/testing as required.
  • Perform maintenance on assigned test equipment
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Associates’ Degree in an electrical field preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in the industrial electrical field preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of electrical theory preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics preferred.
  • Familiarity with the use of test equipment such as multi meter, clamp-on meter, voltage detector, etc. preferred.
  • Must be fluent in English with good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must have basic computer skills using Word, Excel and Access.
  • Learn policies and procedures, work instruction, ISO policies, Safety Rules and Regulations, and vendor products.
