Job Summary:

The Electrical Engineering Manager position holds leadership responsibility for a team tasked to provide Electrical Engineering / Electrical Design support to new product development, including electrical stress analysis / power dissipation / magnetics / worst case tolerance analysis to support product development. Ensures standard designs, methodologies, and tools & processes are used throughout. Ensure experienced and trained electrical engineers and designers are available to support Electronics Custom Power.

Essential Functions:

  • Manage and lead Electrical Engineering team(s) to support product development needs.
  • Ensure that staff development and evaluation plans are implemented to maximize employee potential including accountability and appropriate training and counseling plans.
  • Identify and manage contract personnel as needed during periods of high need/short-term resource loading requirements.
  • Responsible for identification of required resource levels and skill mix and for maintaining resource levels at budgeted levels.
  • Ensure teams deliver designs per Electronics Group process standards and per program cost and schedule requirements.
  • Maintain library of standard design lessons learned and enhance as new standard solutions are developed and applied.
  • Perform design verification and validation activities in accordance with industry and company standards, including all necessary design and verification documentation as required by Solutions teams.
  • Identify hardware equipment design and fabrication outsourcing opportunities to reduce cost and improve quality and delivery for engineering efforts.
  • Work with cross functional teams to provide best available estimates for development and recurring costs for design aspects of new product development programs.
  • Provide necessary support for preparation of business proposals and/or capture plans.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Experience: Requires 7+ years of power electronics/analog experience and 3+ years of People managerial experience. Aerospace/Space experience and project management experience preferred.
  • Education: Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related technical discipline.
  • Knowledge: Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and processes. Strong new product development process knowledge and implementation. Understanding of power conversion technologies, analog circuit design, switching waveforms, magnetic theory and application, and modeling/simulation preferred.
  • Skills: Planning, Organizing, Analysis, Leadership, Interpersonal, Decision Making, Oral and Written Presentation Skills in English, Multi-Tasking, Project Management, Active Listening, Troubleshooting, Critical Thinking, Reading Comprehension, Complex Problem Solving, Active Learning, Systems Analysis, Judgment and Decision Making, Time Management, and Enthusiasm.
  • Eligibility Requirement: This position may require access to Controlled Data or Information. Where the position requires such access only US Persons will be considered. As a US Department of Defense contractor, we are bound by International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).

Top Benefits:

Salary range: $161,574.40 to 196,976.00. Several factors contribute to actual salary, including experience in a similar role or performing comparable job responsibilities, skills, training, and other qualifications. Some roles may be eligible for participation in performance-based bonus programs.
