American Crane & Equipment Corporation (ACECO) is seeking a hands-on, people-focused Electrical Engineering Manager to guide our electrical engineering department, elevate processes, and support mission-critical customer and manufacturing needs.

This role blends technical oversight, leadership, planning, and cross-functional collaboration. You’ll manage team performance, drive engineering standards, and help shape the future of the department as ACECO continues to grow.

 

Job Title: Electrical Engineering Manager

Department: Engineering

Location: 531 Old Swede Road – Douglassville, PA 19518

Schedule: Monday – Friday | 8:00AM–4:30PM | Full-time hours on-site

Compensation: Competitive starting yearly salary based on experience and qualifications

Work Environment: This position is fully on-site at our Douglassville, PA headquarters. This position will work both in office and in shop environments

What You’ll Do

  • Lead and develop the electrical engineering team, ensuring strong communication, accountability, and performance
  • Plan, schedule, and manage engineering workloads, backlogs, and deliverables for multiple concurrent projects
  • Develop and implement departmental standards, guidelines, and processes to support continuous improvement
  • Collaborate with project managers, manufacturing, sales, and other engineering groups to meet stakeholder needs
  • Communicate technical and non-technical information effectively to internal and external audiences
  • Support company leadership in strategic planning for departmental growth and talent development
  • Ensure the team upholds safety, compliance, and traceability requirements aligned with NFPA, NEC, UL 508A, CMAA, ASME, NOG-1, NUM-1, and NUREG 0554
  • Provide timely support to manufacturing and customer needs, ensuring the engineering group is responsive and reliable


What We’re Looking For

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET/EAC-accredited program (required)
  • Experience at the EE II level or equivalent
  • Proven leadership managing a small-to-medium engineering team (5–10 engineers)
  • Strong planning, scheduling, and backlog management capabilities
  • Experience supporting manufacturing operations and customer-driven engineering requests
  • Industrial electrical engineering experience - controls, motion, power distribution, safety standards
  • Familiarity with NFPA/NEC, UL 508A, CMAA 70/74, ASME B30/NOG-1/NUM-1, NUREG 0554
  • Experience with ERP/MRP, scheduling tools, or engineering backlog systems

REQUIREMENTS 

  • Authorization to work in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship
  • Ability to verify identity and employment authorization (Form I-9)
  • Eligibility to access information or technology governed by U.S. export control laws (including 10 C.F.R. Part 810, EAR, and/or ITAR), where applicable
  • Willingness to undergo a background check in accordance with applicable laws
  • Willingness to undergo a pre-employment drug screen in accordance with company policy and randomize drug screens during employment
  • Ability to meet the posted work schedule and work required hours
  • Ability to maintain reliable attendance and punctuality
  • Willingness to follow all company safety policies and procedures
  • Willingness to wear appropriate PPE when in or around the shop areas
  • Willingness to complete required safety and compliance trainings
  • Ability to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Ability to maintain professional conduct aligned with company values and expectations


ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS FOR THE POSITION

  • On-site, day-shift availability (Monday–Friday) 8:00am-4:30pm
  • Occasional collaboration on the manufacturing shop floor, following safety protocols
  • Some travel to customer sites may be required
  • Some overtime as needed based on engineering workload
  • This position may require access to technology or technical data controlled under U.S. export control laws. Successful candidates for this role must meet eligibility requirements including 10 CFR Part 810, EAR, or ITAR.
