The Role

The Electrical Engineering Technician (EET) assists the New Product Development (NPD) electrical engineering team with the design and development of new and existing lithium-ion battery and charger/power system designs.

Key Responsibilities:

Tests/troubleshoots/debugs assembled PCBs and systems.
Assembles/modifies engineering prototype systems and PCBs
Inspects designs and finished products for quality control and compliance with regulations.
Builds, calibrates, and repairs electrical instruments and testing equipment.
Analyzes test information to resolve design problems.
Conducts research experiments and produces professional reports.
Takes direction from NPD team and executes independently.

What You Bring:

A.A.S. in an Electrical or Computer Engineering, Engineering Technology, or similar discipline
5 years minimum relevant experience
Expert level soldering and mechanical assembly skills
IPC-610A, or equivalent, solder certification desired
Expert in reading digital and analog schematics, BOMs and assembly drawings
Proficiency with lab equipment used in electronics design including but not limited to Power Supplies, Electronic Loads, Oscilloscopes, Function Generators, Logic Analyzers, and Voltage and Current measuring devices
Proficiency with Windows PCs including PowerPoint, Excel, Word
Basic knowledge in the following:- Altium CAD
- SolidWorks
- LabVIEW
- Embedded SW
- Microprocessors and Microcontrollers
- Attention to detail, logical reasoning, analytical skills, and communication are a must.

Travel up to 10% of the time to support field issues or projects at other Ultralife sites.
