OnsiteRTX BBN solves challenging problems of high importance to our customers in the Department of Defense, the Intelligence Community and Industry by rapidly prototyping systems for sensing complex physical phenomena, correlating them to events of interest, and producing high-value, actionable information from the sensed data. The team specializes in delivering networked sensor system solutions by combining a strong understanding of the underlying physics, high-fidelity modeling, simulation of complex signatures and propagation phenomenology, deep expertise in signal processing, and EM and RF phenomenology, proven capabilities in system development, and mature tools to enable rapid design cycles from theory to demonstration. We are currently searching for a highly qualified RF Systems Engineer to join our team in Arlington, VA.
What You Will Do
BBN is seeking a TS-cleared systems engineer knowledgeable in the radio frequency (RF) domain to join our team of electrical engineers, physicists, and mathematicians as we build and deliver advanced prototype systems that exploit the RF spectrum. The selected candidate will be responsible for advancing research prototypes to meet customer requirements of special communication protocols to include real-time detection, filtering and tracking, array processing, and direction finding targeted to integrate with mature user operations. The candidate must have an understanding of RF propagation modeling to include link budgets, terrestrial and free-space propagation models, multipath, non-stationary propagation environments (Doppler spread), clock stability and phase noise, and target kinematics. Additional support on programs involving range-doppler radar and synthetic aperture radar is also an area of development.
The candidate will plan and supervise tasks involving 1-3 individuals for small applied research projects where we design and implement advanced signal processing algorithms in novel hardware, implement on real-time hardware, test in a lab environment, then validate in an over-the-air field environment. The experienced Candidate will have the opportunity to present technical advancements to government customers.
