Job Overview:

Description

We're looking for a seasoned electronics technician or engineer to join us on a flexible, part-time basis. This is a unique opportunity for someone who enjoys working on a variety of hands-on technical challenges, from circuit troubleshooting to supporting audio gear and maintaining production equipment, without the commitment of a full-time schedule.

The ideal candidate will be available on an as-needed basis, depending on the demands of current projects. Some weeks may have no work at all, while others may require up to 20 hours of hands-on support. This role is perfect for a recently retired professional who wants to stay active in the field or a self-employed individual who can fit occasional project work into their schedule.

Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot and repair electronic circuits and systems
  • Support and maintain specialized audio equipment and musical instruments
  • Assist with the upkeep of automated manufacturing fixtures (machine control and light programming skills are a plus)
  • Conduct technical tests, document results clearly, and recommend follow-up actions
  • Collaborate with the team to identify and solve practical engineering challenges

Requirements:

  • Senior-level experience in electronics (technician or engineering background)
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and working knowledge of circuit design
  • Comfortable running tests, documenting findings, and proposing technical solutions
  • Reliable, self-motivated, and able to manage time independently
  • Flexible availability (hours vary week to week based on project needs)

Requirements

 Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with pro audio gear or electronic musical instruments
  • Familiarity with automation or machine control systems (PLC or similar)
  • Prior work in a manufacturing or R&D environment

Who This Role Might Be Great For:

  • A retired or semi-retired professional looking to stay engaged in technical work
  • A small business owner or freelancer with a flexible schedule and interest in electronics/audio systems
