Job Description
Design, develop and support control systems for machinery including improvements to existing equipment designs and developing new machine designs. Design layouts and update legacy designs and drawing using AutoCAD Electrical. Design and update legacy safety systems and PLC programs using various software. Ensure compliance with engineering procedures and guidelines, industry standards and practices, and governmental regulations applicable to industrial machinery that is designed, developed, and manufactured by MiTek.Job Responsibilities & Requirements

Essential Functions Statement(s)
Design, develop, and prototype new automated industrial machinery.
Design and program necessary safety controllers/systems.
Design and develop electrical schematics, panel layouts, electrical assembly drawings using AutoCAD Electrical and Autodesk Vault.
Design and develop control software for Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) using Siemens, Emerson software.
Assist shop personal with setup of control systems necessary to complete manufacturing.
Review orders for feasibility of manufacturing with sales.
Review production processes to achieve maximum efficiency.
Research new production machinery.
Responsible for self and keeping on tasks and priorities
Qualifications
Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in an accredited college degree program (Electrical Engineering); expected to graduation date in Fall 2026 or Spring 2027
Cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher; ability to accept full-time offer
Experience with CAD design software, AutoCAD Electrical is preferred
Experience with PLC programming is preferred.
Safety system design is a plus.
Familiarity with drafting/drawing standards is a plus
Advanced understanding of Microsoft Office - Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc. is a plus
Familiarity with low voltage system design and electrical schematics
Basic understanding of PLC systems with remote I/O is a plus
Familiarity with Autodesk Vault is a plus
Understanding of ERP system (QAD) is a plus
