We are seeking an experienced Electrical Project Engineer to support a major data center project in Texas. This is a contract opportunity suited to a project engineer with strong electrical construction, field coordination, and project documentation experience within mission-critical, industrial, commercial, power, or large-scale construction environments.
The successful candidate will work closely with project management, field teams, electrical contractors, vendors, commissioning teams, and client representatives to support the delivery of high-reliability electrical infrastructure.
• Support electrical project engineering activities for data center power infrastructure.
• Review and interpret electrical drawings, specifications, single-line diagrams, schematics, cable schedules, and equipment layouts.
• Assist with RFIs, submittals, change orders, procurement tracking, material coordination, and project documentation.
• Support installation, inspection, testing, commissioning readiness, and punch list activities.
• Coordinate with Project Managers, Superintendents, electrical contractors, vendors, commissioning teams, and client representatives.
• Provide technical support for MV/LV power distribution, switchgear, transformers, UPS systems, generators, PDUs, grounding, lighting, and controls interfaces.
• Track progress, identify field issues, and help resolve risks impacting schedule, quality, safety, or system reliability.
• Ensure electrical work is completed in line with NEC, client standards, project specifications, and safety requirements.
• Maintain accurate project records, logs, meeting notes, and action trackers.
• Previous experience as an Electrical Project Engineer, Project Engineer, Field Engineer, or Electrical Engineer on construction projects.
• Experience on data center, mission-critical, industrial, commercial, power, or large-scale construction projects is preferred.
• Strong understanding of electrical power distribution systems and construction documentation.
• Experience with switchgear, UPS systems, backup generators, transformers, grounding, and commissioning support is highly desirable.
• Ability to read and review electrical drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
• Working knowledge of NEC and applicable electrical codes and standards.
• Experience with Procore, Bluebeam, AutoCAD, Revit, ETAP, SKM, or similar tools is advantageous.
• Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work on-site in Texas for the duration of the contract.
