Job Overview:

As a Trex Electrical Project Engineer, you’ll be directing capital and expense project activities, including electrical engineering design, quotations, scheduling, installation, and start-up.

A member of our Engineering team, you’ll be helping us by maximizing the productivity and efficiency of our facilities.



  • Support cross-functional teams to deliver strategic projects and initiatives.
  • Prepare and distributes a description and timeline of projects.
  • Create project plans and harnesses resources to ensure project milestones are met within timeline, quality, and budget constraints.
  • Understand manufacturing processes and can contribute to the development of new processes using logical reasoning.
  • Use project management tools and processes to ensure projects are delivered on time.
  • Manage project expenses, including capital expense forecasting and purchase orders with vendors.
  • Liaise between process engineers, vendors and contractors for quotation, scheduling, design and installation of equipment.
  • Identify and implement opportunities for operational efficiencies.
  • Ability to develop electrical drawings through AutoCAD or similar software.
  • Understand industrial power systems and how to develop plans from spec’ing a transformer through to wiring a motor.
  • Understand controls systems, specifications, wiring, and installation. Programming not a requirement, but a plus.
  • Understand drives and motor starters.
  • Understand NEC and other pertinent NFPA requirements for industrial control applications.



A Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering along with experience in a design/build field for industrial electrical systems is required. If you have at least 1 year of experience in manufacturing or chemical process operations you’re Trex material for sure.

Recent college graduates with electrical engineering experience gained through internship opportunities are encouraged to apply.

Have AutoCAD experience? You’ll fit in just fine.
