We are currently seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to join our engineering team, supporting both our data center rack and enclosure product lines, Outside Plant  and our Engineered-to-Order products.

Position Summary

As an Electrical Design Engineer at Vertiv, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing electrical systems and components for various projects. You will collaborate with mechanical engineers and other cross-functional teams to ensure successful project design and execution and will contribute to the development of innovative and reliable solutions. This role requires strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and test electrical systems and components for various projects.
  • Create and review electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical specifications.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including mechanical, software, and manufacturing.
  • Troubleshoot and debug electrical issues during development and testing phases.
  • Ensure compliance with NEC, UL, and other relevant standards and codes.
  • Support the development of technical documentation including BOMs, test requirements, and other processes.
  • Participate in project kick-off and coordination meetings.
  • Provide technical support during fabrication, assembly, and commissioning.
  • Identify cost reduction opportunities and support implementation of product changes.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • 2–4 years of experience in electrical engineering.
  • Proficiency in 2D and 3D CAD software; AutoCAD and Autodesk Inventor preferred.
  • Strong knowledge NEC code.
  • Applied knowledge of logic controllers
  • Familiarity with mechanical engineering principles and integration of AC and DC electrical systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to debug complex issues.
  • Strong communication skills with ability to work efficiently, both independently and within a team.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 4–8 years of experience in electrical system design or application.
  • Experience in the ICT industry or data center infrastructure.
  • Experience with PLM and ERP systems and BOM management.
